Economic Hub

Neemrana in Alwar district, Rajasthan, is fast emerging as an economic and industrial hub in the region. Strategically located (barely 155 km away from Delhi), Neemrana has hogged much light for the key commercial projects and industrial estates proposed by the Govt. of Rajasthan in 2006. With the announcement of the Global City and the Special Economic Zones, and the Kundli-Manesar-Palway expressway, which will intersect NH 8 when completed, Neemrana, indeed, seems poised for bigger growths.

The proposed Global City that is slated for development in Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror on 40,000 acres of land would have cluster cities within such as the Cyber City, Medicity, Bio-diversity Park, SEZ City, Knowledge City, Entertainment City, World Trade City, a Dry Port City and an airport facility.

Apart from the Global City, RIICO is also putting up Neemrana Phase III with large industrial estates. An Export Promotion Industrial Park (EPIP), spread over 210 acres, is another project where some plots have already been given to certain industries.

The industrial estates are inspiring many big industry majors to set up their manufacturing facilities at Neemrana. Many industry majors -- such as Liberty Whiteware, Hero Honda, Pallavi Copper Pipes, AMD Metplast -- are setting up their units. Facilities of Parle, Ginni, Prena Syntex, and Rochee Breweries are already in operation at Neemrana.

Three Japanese logistics companies are also likely to set up operations. An area of more than 75 acres of land has been earmarked for the purpose. India’s first infrastructure equipment bank, Quipo will also invest Rs. 200 crore in a project that’s likely to be completed by 2011. Joining other industry majors is the Japanese automobile giant Nissan which is likely to set up a manufacturing unit in Neemrana.

Several real estate giants, including the Ansals, are also much active in Neemrana. Ansals is investing Rs. 6553 crore, to set up multi-products SEZ in Neemrana, over an area of 2500 acres
